After fasting for 12 hours, we drove down to Carlsbad for our blood tests. I was surprised by how rapidly we got there, considering how many other people now know our route down College Ave. to Cannon to the Coast Highway. And then, too, it was before 8 a.m. We thought if we went early, we wouldn't have to wait. But we did wait, about an hour. Afterwards we went to Denny's for breakfast, and it was as good as I remembered it. But it costs twice as much as it did about twenty years ago! We stopped at a computer store and bought a disk drive, to replace one on the south computer. Russ couldn't install it, so we asked John Diaz to do it. He repairs, as well as teaches, to earn part of his living expenses. Karen came over and told us about their trip to Denver. Later she left to visit Candace a few days, and they'll check out housing in Porterville, where Danya will be living.
