I forgot the Monday wash!
This morning I went out with Chris while he watered the plants. We found a lot more plums fallen on the sidewalk on the north of the house. I filled a plastic bag with the good ones, and another with the mashed ones and put it in the garbage. I thought of cooking the good ones, but instead I washed them and put them in a bowl, and we have been eating them off and on all day.
We watched Perry Mason and another re-run, and then we got ready to go to the dentist. I went in first and met the new (to me) dentist, and had x-rays and my teeth cleaned by his staff. It was a good experience.
Tonight we read and listened to more of the New Testament. It certainly helps to understand it that way. And I want to read more in the book on it that Karen loaned us. I'll be interested in talking to Kyle about the various translations.

While researching for a paper my freshman year I discovered that the association of the name 'Lucifer' to Satan was entirely the result of a mistranslation when converting the hebrew bible into greek. The translator accidentally mistook the hebrew word for the name of a dawn goddess that was popular at the time. That's why satan will also sometimes be called "Venus" or "The morning star", because he was accidentally associated with that goddess. We'd read some medieval poetry that referred to Venus as "Brilliant Lucifer", and it confused the heck out of us until we found out why.
