Loved Caden's pictures!

We watched the movies of Caden, and they are so great that he is learning to walk! Now he just has to get a little more weight on that tiny body, and he will soon be doing anything he wants to! Now that I am at the computer, I will tell you what has been happening here. Danya and Karen came over this morning, and we had a nice visit. Then they left to load Danya's car for her drive back to Porterville She is taking back with her the Grandfather clock, an end table, and one of the Navajo blankets, if she can find them. I think they are in a metal trunk for safe keeping. I went to see Dr. Donahoe this afternoon. He said they had found only small hemeroids in my colon. I should receive a letter from that department in a week or two, telling me what to do to prevent the bleeding. That's all my news for tonight, so I will close and get ready for bed.

This morning we had breakfast and then we drove to the Plaza shopping center. I had my hair washed and set, and Chris did some shopping at Wal-Mart. We didn't do anything else, just drove back to the Villas. After reading the paper we went to lunch. After a lot of food, we came back to the apartment and straightened it up a bit. Then we went for a walk, to find our storage box, in building C, on the third floor. We finally found it and then we came back by way of the swiming pool and hot tub. We stopped long enough to test the water in each pool, with just a hand, of course. But after my next visit with Dr. Donahoe, I intend to make use of one or both these facilities, if he says it's all right. Back in the apartment I started to make some phone calls, but I fell asleep. Chris woke me up and got me into a recliner with a robe over my feet, and I went back to sleep. I woke up in time to go back to the dining room and eat something. Then we watched our usual Brit TV shows, and now it's bed time, after I get teeth brushed and all meds taken..

This has been a quiet day. I had breakfast and then I took drinks and toast to Chris, who didn't feel up to going to breakfast. A little later the visiting nurse for the Villas came to check on him; he had fallen down getting out of the car and over the curb last night and skinned his knee. Someone at the door had put a bandage on it, which I had replaced last night. The nurse looked at it and then went to get her kit and replaced it. It is just skinned, and should heal soon. By noon he felt well, and we went to lunch here. We waited until the sun began to come out about 3 p.m. and then drove to the Kaiser Pharmacy and picked up a refill for me. On the way back we stopped at Tamarack Beach and watched the waves, and the few surfers ride the rather small waves. Back at the Villas we did some work on our financial books, and then we went to dinner. We sat with a German couple we had met before, but she has now had a small stroke and can't talk. It was a quiet meal, and we felt sorry for her.

Lets cheer for Kaiser Med.!

It has been a much better day than I had anticipated--the sedatives the Dr. gave me through an IV worked perfectly. Both tests were done while I was sound asleep. Afterward Karen and Danya drove us back to Carlsbad, where I had a small hamburger, and then when we got back to the Villas I also had half a nice dinner and dessert. I have been spending the evening trying to get it all digested! Kaye suggested I do some of the exercises that the visiting Kaiser nurse gave me. I'll do that as soon as I've written this. Danya told us about her life now. She has credentials to teach regular school or the special education students. She has now got a room of her own to teach just the Special ED. Today she and Karen went shopping for things to make it interesting for the children. She likes helping these children.

I haven't done anything all day except get ready for my colonoscopy and the other test that I will have tomorrow. I had breakfast and lunch of clear liquids. The Maitre d' wasn't surprised by my requests; it seems they often have older people on special diets from time to time. When it was dinner time I forgot all about it, because I had started on the galleon of liquid I am to drink, three fourths tonight and the last one in the morning. I guess I don't do anything else until we leave for San Marcos around noon. We talked to all three daughteers, and they are well. Danya is down here visiting her mother, and they will drive us to San Marcos tomorow. Kaye is at Writers Group tonight , and Carla and Rex are alone now after their children have gone, after the wedding they came to attend. I haven't left the apartment except for going down the hall for breakfast and lunch. My visiting teacher came to see me for a little while, and she told me about her family, including the great grandchild they have, who will be getting a new baby sister in the fall. The farher of these children had just come home from a mission and was our home teacher when we first moved into the Oceanside house.

I haven't written on the blog in weeks, it seems. I haven't done anything interesting to tell anyone, I'm just waiting around for the last of my tests to find out the state of my health. The final tests will be in two days, and after that I should be able to tell you what has been wrong with my blood, and what I can do about it. Today we had our usual three meals at the dining room, and between lunch and dinner we went to the Plaza shopping center to get a few supplies we needed. Then, instead of going back down the usual way to Jefferson and back to Laguna, we drove south and west on Canon to the ocean, and back to Tamarack Beach. We found a parking place and watched the small waves going in and out and the surfers waiting and waiting for a good one! Summer has finally arrived, though and people are again enjoying the beach anyway.
