This morning we were a little slow getting going , but we did make it to breakfast. On the way back from the dining room, I saw a newspaper on the floor in front of Verla Reece's former apartment. So I decided to take it to her, in the care center, where she is living now. I found her in her room in a wheelchair facing a TV, but not really looking at it. I knocked a couple of times and then called her name, and she realized I was there. She had put on weight, and wasn't as alert as the last time I saw her. I didn't stay long, especially when she bent over with a stomach ache. I called a nurse, who came to take care of her, and I left. She did say "Thank you for coming" as I left. On the way back to our apartment I met a woman who had just been to the exercise class which we had missed. I didn't think of going because Chris ' shoulder is still a problem, but she said you don't have to do more than you can, limit it to just what you know won't hurt you. I could have gone with that in mind, but I was thinking about Verla instead. We spent until lunch time in the apartment, and then went to lunch. I was hoping Karen and Danya would be over, but they didn't make it. Later Karen called and said she was sick with a cold, and just couldn't do it. Tomorrow Danya has to go back to Porterville, and Karen will put her on the train, and then go to her art class. I hope she isn't doing too much. We talked to Carla and to Kaye, and Kaye told us Stellan, Sara and Caden had gotten to Sara's mother's house, and Kaye visited them, and then showed them the new house she and Kyle are having built.
