After our breakfast Karen called, and she said she would be over to tell us goodbye , since she is quite sure now that their trip will go as scheduled, in spite of the volcano still exploding. We were of course happy to see her, and then sad to see her leave here. Life is sometimes not certain, and we hate to think of things that might go wrong in the situation they will be going into. But we can always pray, and put it in the Lord's hands. That is some consolation. Today I decided it would be a good day to do the laundry, since I had been putting it off. But it wasn't really bad, we had only two loads, and I had to wait for the washers. I had a new book Karen had loaned me, so I read 34 pages, and then the washers were mine to use. After I had put everything in the dryers I went back to the apartment, and Chris and I went to lunch. After that I went back to the laundry and stayed with it, until it was done. I had it all loaded on the little square cart Karen had got for us, and I was walking to the elevator when Chris came down there. We went back to the apartment and put away the clothes. I pressed one blouse, and Chris did his pants. I just remembered I never did get the socks out of their net bags, to see if they were dry. I'll go do that as soon as I'm done with this. I can hang them in the bathrooms if they aren't dry yet. I keep thinking of ways we can move things around the apartment, and into just two of the rooms, and give up one. That would save a lot of money, but Chris says we can get by this way. So, I won't do anything about it--yet!
